CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions Namibia, a renewable energy company financing, developing, building and operating solar plants, completed its latest project by the end of January 2018. The plant built on O&L Leisure’s Mokuti Lodge has now officially been connected to the grid.
A solar power plant installed at Midgard Country Lodge, a property owned and operated by Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Leisure in the heart of Namibia went into operations in December. The plant will not only reduce Midgard’s electricity costs significantly, but also lowers the carbon emissions of the energy intensive operations covering Midgard’s totaldaytime energy demand.
CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions GmbH and their local partner MOSTE sign a ground-breaking Memorandum of Understanding with FUNAE, a public institution promoting energy access in regions where the national grid does not reach, in order to develop Mozambique’s largest pre-paid solar mini-grid on Chiloane Island in Sofala Province.
CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions (“Cronimet”) hosted their 2nd Annual Technical Workshop “the Grid Integration of Renewable Energy”, during the 2nd week of August, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The workshop was done in cooperation with Eskom, SAIEE, North-West University, and TU Dresden and focusing on Challenges and Field Experiences with Grid Compliance Assessment.

CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions (“CRONIMET”) together with is Namibian JV partner, O&L Energy, were awarded the “Arandis” 3 MWPVAC Power Plant tender. The tender was issued by Erongo Regional Electricity Distributor (Pty) Ltd (“ERONGO Red”) and was awarded to the CRONIMET - O&L Energy development consortium on February, 26th 2016.
CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions GmbH (CRONIMET) and DEG – Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH, a subsidiary of Germany’s KfW have signed a three-year partnership aimed to expedite the parties’ individual socio-economic growth and electrification targets in Africa. The public private partnership’s interests are aligned through the advancement of large-scale photovoltaic (PV) and PV/diesel hybrid power plants in over 20 African countries.
